Meet the Goomahda—Alleva Coppolo’s sassy short-scale sidekick that plays like a dream and sounds like warm, buttery thunder. With a name straight outta The Sopranos, this 32″ powerhouse is lightweight, loaded with vibe, and dangerously easy to fall in love with.
Why this bass stands out
Designed by Jimmy Coppolo as a nod to the classic Gibson Les Paul Jr., this bass packs a punch with its vintage-style DiMarzio humbucker, rich cherry red finish, and ultra-smooth La Bella black tape wounds. It’s got attitude, playability, and old-school wood you just can’t get anymore. The Dimarzio humbucker is one Jimmy got from Steve Blucher at Dimarzio maybe 25 years ago, The body is made of Obeche, which has the grain of mahogany, but the bodyweight is real light. The rosewood finger board, which like all Alleva-Coppolo finger boards (while supply lasts), is Indonesian rosewood, which Jimmy got from his friend Grover Jackson years ago, and he got it from a guy they both know who got it back in 1973 from a SoCal wood supplier called Penbirthy.
